* ~ * 11th MAY 2021 - OUR 10th BIRTHDAY!! * ~ *
Our Summer term began on the 19th April. Whilst running all the sessions we are doing our best to fit in all the new players that are interested in joining in!
We have 2 new groups that are on the start of their tennis journeys. Both groups are full with 10 new players enjoying their new kits and great coaching sessions.
We are just waiting for confirmation of the updated guidance from the 17th May. Although we can run all the sessions we want the new guidance should see more socialising allowed out the club.
Our clubs have fantastic facilities that are kept in great shape by the committees. To add to the newly resurfaced court at Biddestone TC all 4 courts now have floodlights. In Marshfield there will shortly be improvements made to the area between the clubhouse and courts.
Having not been able to run competitions in 2020 we are looking forward to adding some events back to our programme. Look out for the Family Cup, Team Challenge, Road to Wimbledon and Club Championships coming soon.
School visits are bit more challenging at the moment but we are still working weekly with Marshfield Primary and Calder House School. We aim to visit more schools soon and are encouraging teachers to complete the LTA Schools training course.
The 11th May 2021 marks 10 years of tennis coaching in Marshfield. Sam has been the Head Coach at the club since it was built and the coaching programme is busier than ever. 10 year celebrations were planned but we are now looking at a 10(+1) year celebration next summer.
for any information about the sessions we will be offering once the courts have reopened at the end of March.
As lockdown comes to an end and we are reopening our clubs we can get back to our coaching sessions and play on court. We enjoyed the challenge of adapting our activities so that they could be done at home and hope that lots of our players will continue to practice away from the courts. Not only will this help your tennis but your all around athletic ability and fitness! It is also great to get the whole family involved even if they are not tennis players....yet!
